Of course you would care, however if you're talking about 9/11, well, then.. no one I knew died there, so it doesn't concern me. I know people suffer and suffered for various reasons, but why should I carry the burden of the world on my shoulders? You could say that I don't care, which is right, however it's not completely accurate; because really it just doesn't concern me and so I don't see why I should depress myself by thinking about the world's problems. I just mind my own business, you see. And even though you could argue that terrorism is also my business as it could affect me too, I just decide not to think about it. It's not like we can do anything about it anyway. We can't do anything about most things. So just leave them be, leave the past behind. To feel sorrow for something in the past that you cannot change is futile.

I cared not a bit with 9/11, and a friend of mine did die about 2 years ago, and again I didn't care, about 2-3 months ago my grandmother died, and yes, again, I didn't care

just like others already said, dying is just a progress of life, why be sad about it. and isn't it cruel to only care if someone you know dies. people die everyday, so you should feel sad for all of them, not just for a few...

but nah, maybe I don't care much about other peoples life because I also don't care very much for mine

Instead of cruel, I would say it's selfish to mourn people's deaths, as we're only sad because they're not with us anymore; but what if THEY wanted to die? I don't think anyone ever thinks of that when mourning.
This raises another issue; is being selfish, as mentioned above, always wrong?

hmm, you're right about that... but it's just so stupid. for example, a guy gets shot to death in New York, my parents don't care, but then a guy gets shot to death in our neighbourhood, and they suddendly care. that's so stupid, they cared shit about the guy in New York, but are suddendly "aah, what a tragic thing" and "this world is going bad" when it happens close to them. that's just only caring for yourself!!

but you're right about the selfish part, an example is my sister when my grandmother died. she hated my grandmother for years, hell, she even threw her in some bushes, but when she died she's suddendly dead and even cried?! hell, stupidest thing I ever saw.
